The Option Period in Texas is a specified number of days set forth in a Real Estate Contract which allows the Buyer to terminate the Contract for any reason. It usually is about a week.

Home Inspection

You must arrange for a Licensed Property Inspector to view the property as soon as the Seller accepts your Offer. You can choose to have multiple Inspectors check the property, if you want expert opinions from inspectors who specialize in a certain area (e.g. roof, HVAC, structural, etc.).

Closing

A Settlement Statement, which lists all of the financial transactions made during the process, will be provided to each party by the Closing Agent. This Statement will be signed by the Closing Agent, You, and the Seller(s), attesting to its accuracy. You will be needed to sign all relevant papers that the lending institution requires if you are receiving funding. If you are bringing money to the transaction, you have two options: bring a Certified Bank Check to the Closing in the amount listed on the Settlement Statement, or have the money electronically transferred into the Closing Agent’s Escrow Account.
